One of the most casual, fun couples you will ever meet– Jack and Lauren Heckethorn were the stars of the show about a month ago at Clinton State Park! I had the joy of meeting them at their engagement session a couple months prior to the wedding and knew that their wedding would be unique and fun!
At first the couple scheduled the wedding in Wichita but later asked us if we would be willing to travel with them to Clinton State Park instead, and I said of course! I love traveling to new places. And despite the 18 ticks found total between two of us, the park was such a sweet place!
The ceremony was set up facing the lake with trees all behind, and the reception was set up about fifty feet away under a giant white tent. There was a wood dance floor (which was the source of MANY awesome dance moves that night), all sorts of snacks for guests to enjoy, a glass seating chart, the most amazing and scrumptious cupcakes by WOW Cakes from Wichita, and practically every alcoholic beverage you can imagine! But it wasn’t just about all the bells and whistles that were there. It never is.
It’s about the couple. Lauren and Jack were so sweet. To everyone. They were always concerned about others. Aside from the wedding itself, the couple paid for everyone’s cabins to stay overnight (including ours), bought cabin necessities with blankets, sheets etc. which they put in each cabin, and provided a lovely brunch the next morning! It was one of the sweetest weekends we’ve ever experienced. The love that was present those two days was evident and we were honored to be a part of it! Shout out to my mom and sister for all the help!
